What Is A Leg Wax?

Here at the Mind Body and Soul, we offer a full leg waxing treatment or the option to choose just an upper or lower leg wax. A full leg wax comprises of hair removal from the top of your thighs to the base of the ankles. Whereas, a half leg wax typically eliminates hair from either just above the knees to the ankles, or from the thighs to above the knees (front and back).

If you are tired of having to shave your legs regularly and are struggling to stay on top of reoccurring stubble, leg waxing is a great hair removal alternative for silky smooth skins. Leg waxing is particularly effective because it removes hair directly from the root, meaning more time between appointments.

As one of the most popular hair removal methods for your legs. Leg waxing offers a great alternative for those not wanting to commit to more permanent hair removal methods. Your leg waxing treatment will take roughly 30-40 minutes and begins with choosing whether you’d like want warm or hot wax for your treatment.

For silky smooth and lustrous legs, choose leg waxing at our Colchester, Essex clinic to transform your confidence and skin.

What Are The Benefits Of A Leg Wax?

A leg wax will leave your legs feeling smooth and soft for weeks at a time. It can also make you feel more comfortable and confident when wearing certain types of clothing like bikinis, shorts and dresses.

By maintaining regular waxing, your hair density will reduce over time, meaning the hair will grow back finer. Unlike shaving and epilating, with waxing the hair is removed straight from the root. Because of this, the skin experiences less repeated trauma in one area, causing fewer bumps and less ingrown hairs compared to shaving and epilating.

With leg waxing, maintenance and upkeep is fairly low and you will only need a follow up session around once a month, which means more time to enjoy touchable smooth legs between treatments.

Ladies Waxing Colchester

Before Your Leg Wax

Here at our Colchester, Essex clinic, we specialise in using both hot wax and warm wax depending on the type of treatment you desire. Before your leg wax, we will arrange a short consultation to answer any of your questions and understand what treatment goals you have in mind.

However, in the couple of weeks before your first waxing session, we recommend refraining from shaving or using any other hair removal techniques. In order to for the wax to effectively remove your hair, it will need to be at least 5-10mm in length.

The night before your wax, exfoliate the treatment area and have a warm bath to relax. This will loosen and remove dead skin cells, making your wax much easier. Our beauty therapists are highly knowledgeable and trained to finesse your wax for a virtually painless, and stress-free treatment.

During Your leg Wax

During your treatment, your aesthetician will lead you to a calm and private treatment room for your wax. They will then leave the room, so you can take off your clothes and position yourself comfortably on the waxing table.

Your wax appointment will likely take around 30-40 minutes and will begin with choosing either warm or hot wax.

Before treatment, your wax technician will clean the treatment area, applying an oil or powder to assist the wax. They will then apply a piece of wax to your legs. Once cooled, your technician will rapidly remove the wax strip by pulling your skin taut with their palm. Depending on your preferences, you can choose to remove all hair on your legs or just half of the leg.

Once your treatment is complete, your wax technician will go over your skin with a serum or cream to help soothe it and reduce your chances of developing ingrown hairs.

After Your Leg Wax

Immediately after your treatment, the skin may feel hot and irritated. Provided you follow the correct aftercare, this should only be short lived. After your treatment, avoid any activities that might irritate your skin or transfer bacteria to the waxed area.

• Avoid having a bath for the first 24 hours post treatment.
• Try using a mild exfoliator about 2 days after your waxing to remove any dead skin cells.
• Avoid tanning beds, saunas, intense exercise, or swimming pools on the day of your wax.
• Try not to touch the waxed region until redness or discoloration subsides.
