What Is An Underarm & Arm Wax?

Here at the Mind Body and Soul, we offer a full arm waxing treatment, as well as the option to treat your underarms. A full arm wax typically consists of hair removal from the top of your shoulders to the base of your wrists. Whereas, an underarm wax eliminates the course, thick hair from your arm pits.

If you are tired of having to shave or epilate your arms on a regular basis and are struggling to stay on top of reoccurring stubble, arm waxing is the perfect temporary hair removal method. Arm waxing is especially effective as it removes stubborn hair directly from the root, giving you more time between appointments to enjoy silky smooth skin.

Additionally, arm waxing offers a great alternative for those not wanting to commit to more permanent hair removal methods like SHR. Waxing has boosted the confidence of women for centuries and with arm waxing at our Colchester, Essex clinic, The Mind Body and Soul will help transform your skin.

ARM & UNDERARM Wax Colchester

How Long Does Arm & Underarm Waxing Last

At The Mind Body & Soul in Colchester, Essex, our arm and underarm waxing treatments are a popular choice for those looking to achieve smooth, hair-free skin in these areas. The length of time that an arm and underarm wax will last will depend on a few factors, including:

Hair growth: Individual hair growth patterns can vary, so the length of time that an arm and underarm wax will last will depend on how quickly your hair grows. On average, a wax can last up to four to six weeks, but this can vary from person to person.

Hair thickness: Thicker hair tends to grow back faster and may require more frequent waxing.

Hair texture: Coarse, thick hair tends to grow back faster than fine, thin hair.

Proper aftercare: Proper aftercare following a waxing treatment can help to extend the length of time that the wax lasts. This includes avoiding hot showers, exfoliating the area, and using a moisturizing lotion to keep the skin hydrated.

At The Mind Body & Soul, our team of experienced aestheticians use only the highest quality wax and follow strict hygiene protocols to ensure a comfortable and effective treatment. If you're interested in arm and underarm waxing, our team can help you determine the best course of treatment for your individual needs and goals.

Benefits To Underarm & Arm Waxing

At The Mind Body & Soul in Colchester, Essex, our arm and underarm waxing treatments are a popular choice for those looking to achieve smooth, hair-free skin in these areas. In addition to the aesthetic benefits, arm and underarm waxing can offer a range of other benefits, including:

Long-lasting results: Arm and underarm waxing can last for several weeks, making it a more long-lasting option compared to shaving, which needs to be done daily or every other day.

Smoother skin: Waxing removes hair from the root, which can result in smoother, softer skin.

Reduced ingrown hairs: Ingrown hairs can occur when shaved hair grows back into the skin, causing irritation and bumps. Waxing removes hair from the root, reducing the risk of ingrown hairs.

Less time consuming: Shaving can be time-consuming, especially if you have to do it daily or every other day. Arm and underarm waxing can save you time in the long run as it lasts longer than shaving.

How Long Should You Grow Underarm Hair Before Waxing

At The Mind Body & Soul in Colchester, Essex, our underarm waxing treatment is a popular choice for those looking to achieve smooth, hair-free skin in this area. If you're considering underarm waxing, it's important to let your hair grow out to a length of at least ¼ inch before your appointment.

This length is important because it ensures that the wax can effectively grip and remove the hair from the root. If the hair is too short, the wax may not be able to effectively remove it, resulting in a less effective treatment.

If you're unsure of how long your hair is, it's a good idea to let it grow out for at least a week or two before your appointment. This will ensure that the hair is long enough for the wax to effectively remove it.

At The Mind Body & Soul, our team of experienced aestheticians use only the highest quality wax and follow strict hygiene protocols to ensure a comfortable and effective treatment. If you have any questions about underarm waxing or any of our other waxing treatments, don't hesitate to ask. Our team is here to help you achieve smooth, hair-free skin in the most comfortable way possible.

Ladies Waxing Colchester

Before Your Underarm & Arm Wax

Here at our Colchester, Essex clinic, we specialise in using both hot wax and warm wax depending on the type of treatment you desire. Before your arm wax, we will arrange a short consultation to answer any of your questions and understand your treatment goals.

In the weeks before your first wax, we recommend refraining from regular shaving or using any other hair removal techniques. So that your hair can be effectively removed by the wax, it will need to be at least 5-10mm in length.

The night before your wax, exfoliate the treatment area and have a warm bath to relax and hydrate your skin. This will loosen and remove dead skin cells, making your treatment much easier. At the Mind Body and Soul, our beauty therapists are highly knowledgeable and trained to finesse your wax for a virtually painless, timely and stress-free appointment.

During Your Underarm & Arm Wax

During your wax, your aesthetician will lead you to a calm and private treatment room. Once you are comfortable with them doing so, they will leave the room, so you can take off your clothes and position yourself on the waxing table.

Your wax appointment will likely take around 30 minutes and will begin with choosing either warm or hot wax.

Before treatment, your wax technician will clean the treatment area, applying an oil or powder to assist the wax. They will then apply a piece of wax to your arms or underarms. Once cooled, your technician will rapidly remove the wax strip by pulling your skin taut with their palm. Depending on your preferences, you can choose to remove all hair on your arms and or underarms.

Once your treatment is complete, your technician will go over your skin with a serum or cream to help soothe and reduce the development of ingrown hairs.

After Your Underarm & Arm Wax

Immediately after your treatment, the skin may feel hot and irritated. Provided you follow the correct aftercare, this should only be short lived. After your treatment, avoid any activities that might irritate your skin or transfer bacteria to the waxed area.

• Avoid having a bath for the first 24 hours post treatment.
• Try using a mild exfoliator about 2 days after your waxing to remove any dead skin cells.
• Avoid tanning beds, saunas, intense exercise, or swimming pools on the day of your wax.
• Try not to touch the waxed region until redness or discoloration subsides.
